Anthony Gonzales’ drawings are passion plays, his characters set against the backdrop of New York’s tumultuous neighborhoods. All of his men loiter on the city streets—teetering back and forth, shoulders hunched, heads bobbing up and down, loose-jointed limbs swinging and hands deeply thrust in even looser jeans to conceal their manly excitement.
