Dante from "Sex and the City": Gilles Marini in Fred Goudon's new book

As Dante, the hot guy living in the beach house next door to Samantha Jones in the "Sex and the City" movie, French model and actor Gilles Marini earned international recognition. Exiting pictures of him can be found in VIRILITY, the new book of his good friend Fred Goudon. In an exclusive interview, Gilles Marini tells us how he got prepared for his famous shower scene:

How did you meet Fred and how did he convince you to be a model?

I meet Fred through his niece, I wanted to try to do something in the modeling industry. I meet him three days before I got into my military duty, as a firefighter "sapeur pompiers" in Paris. He did not have to convince me because it was a luck for me having myself been portrayed by this amazing photographer. At this time Fred was 28 years old and so, so much talented already. So from the first session, I knew that for me to work as a model, I needed pictures of top photographer and Fred is on top of that list.

.

.

What is it like to work with someone you know for such a long time?

What are the pros and cons? Only pros ... He's my brother, my inspiration for so many things, since we met, Fred always gave me good advices, he was my savior when all was going crazy in my life. When we shoot together, he is giving me a lot, making me feel comfortable, the best way to create something great together, it's fun and fascinating at the same time, with Fred it never feels like work. So he is for sure the best person to "work" with!

.

Do you have any idea how Fred's pictures get that special kind of erotic atmosphere?

Oh yes! A very clear one: His deep passion for his work!

.

In his new book VIRILITY you can be seen under the shower and there is your famous shower scene in "Sex and the City" - Just a coincidence?

Not at all, but to set the record straight, since we know each other we did shoot "couple times" under the shower ... But, at this time it was particular, I needed to be ready and comfortable before to play the shower scene in "Sex and the City". We talked about it with Fred and this shower picture was "kind of" a rehearsal photo session before shooting the film ... So when I've got to the set of "S&TC", I had to get naked and play my scene in front of dozens of persons, it was very impressive. So to be confident, thanks to Fred, I knew how to do, so in the movie it looks a bit like what Fred has created ...

hey, cool, that you made an interview with him! I would have loved to know how he got the part in the movie and if he had to strip bare for the audition ;-)
