The publishing house Bruno Gmünder was founded in Berlin in 1981 by Bruno Gmünder and Christian von Maltzahn. Today, with approximately 80 permanent employees and numerous freelance staff and annual sales of 9 million Euro, the group is among the global market leaders in gay media and is internationally present with a wide range of up to 150 new titles per year. With numerous publications the fields of magazines, art, photography, travel, comics, fiction and non-fiction, we are offering a great variety of subjects for the gay community worldwide. The international travel guide Spartacus (first published in 1969) is still the best-selling gay travel book in the world.

Under the umbrella of the Bruno Gmünder GmbH, we also operate a trade division. Through Brunos.de, the Brunos mail order catalog and in four Germany-based Brunos shops in Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Munich, we sell thousands of products, from fine photobooks, novels and non-fiction to DVDs, sportswear and underwear, and pleasure items. Through international sales and marketing partners, the products of our media group are represented on all continents and in major cities like New York, Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, Sydney, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London, Paris, and Moscow.
