Mioki
Mioki lives in New Jersey and was born in 1949 the son of Czech and German immigrants
in the US. Although he’s been drawing comics since he was a small child he
has never had any professional training as an artist, which you wouldn’t know from
seeing his work! The protagonists from SIDE BY SIDE, Rick and Evan, were introduced in
STRIPPED – THE ILLUSTRATED MALE anthology. This is their story.

Chayne Avery
Chayne grew up in Roswell, New Mexico and although his name starts with a "C", it's pronounced "Shane". Science-fiction and comic books captured his interest at an early age and he loved to draw the characters that inspired his imagination. After taking art classes throughout middle-school and high-school, he decided to make art his career. He met his life-partner Russell in 1993 in college, due to the fact that they shared the same art classes. After graduation, they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where they continue to share their lives together along with their two dogs Kira and Haley.

Russell Garcia
Russell is a New Mexico native and after graduation from Eastern New Mexico University in 1995 began his graphic design career in Albuquerque. First as an in-house designer for a bookstore and then moving into web design and photography. In 2005 Russell began assisting Chayne with story and art development for BOY MEETS HERO. In addition, Russell has continued with his career as a graphic designer and jewelry photographer. Russell is an avid music collector, movie fan, and enjoys drumming as well.

Australian photographer Pedro Virgil has been making waves with his work for
years in magazines like DNA and Cosmopolitan. He has also photographed
brands such as ROLEX, Diesel and recently for international hit TV show,
Australia’s Next Top Model. He puts a lot of work into all his images, resulting in
professional high-gloss works of art of the superlative! These photos were taken
for a fundraising calendar being sold to support The McGrath Foundation.

The now 42-year-old New Yorker Todd Yeager sold his first portrait at the age of twelve.
Since the mid-80s he’s been causing sensations with a variety of exhibitions. Member of
the Leslie/Lohman Gay Art Foundation, most recently his drawings were included in the
DIRTY LITTLE DRAWINGS collection, published by Bruno Gmünder in 2007.

Neil Bartlett was born in 1958. Neil works as a theatre and opera director as well as an author. His work in the theatre includes productions for the RSC, the National and the Royal Court as well as several controversial solo performance pieces. From 1994-2005 he was Artistic Director of the Lyric Hammersmith in London; in 2000 he was awarded an OBE for his work in the theatre.

Kirk Read is a writer, performer and event-maker who lives and works in San Francisco’s Mission district. He tours the United States as an author and solo performer.
He is the author of “How I Learned to Snap,” a memoir about being openly gay in a small Virginia high school. The book has been translated into German and was named an American Library Association Honor Book. His writing has been published in over 150 newspapers and magazines, as well as several dozen book anthologies.
